The ANGLEC Holiday promotions ran under the theme “Powerful Giving Starts With you” from November 30th, 2018 to February 1st, 2019. ANGLEC brought new energy to its tradition of giving back with two primary initiatives, “The Power of Giving Campaign” and the “ANGLEC Holiday Parade Giveaway.”

All interested persons were encouraged to register for both programmes by visiting ANGLEC’s main office in The Valley or by calling 497-5200.

ANGLEC’s Customer Care Representative, Mrs. Audra Hodge-Carty, witnessed customers enthusiasm throughout the promotional period. She noted that customers where very interested in the opportunity to participate in the ‘Give the Gift of Power’ campaign. It was really nice because anyone, be it an ANGLEC customer, or a visitor to the island, could purchase an electricity bill credit as a special gift for someone else.

One lady was elated to put $300.00 towards her dad’s account in December. She couldn’t wait for us to see his expressions upon his inquiry. The bill credit really brightened his holiday season!

ANGLEC looks forward to bringing the “Give the Gift of Power” campaign back throughout the year to help give back to those they love on other special holidays. However, if you’re looking for another chance to get in on the “ANGLEC Holiday Giveaway Parade” you’ll have to wait until next year.

The ANGLEC Holiday Giveaway Parade allowed registered customers a chance to win a visit from the “ANGLEC Holiday Giveaway” Truck, as well as hundreds of dollars’ worth of prizes. January 8th 2019 was the lucky day for 19 ANGLEC customers who were drawn (one for each billing cycle) as well as 1 Grand Prize winner pulled from all registered customers.

The gifts were hand delivered to available winners on January 11th, 2019. ANGLEC organized a Parade of trucks that journeyed around Anguilla late into the evening making the highly-anticipated deliveries. Along the way, members of ANGLEC’s staff joyously mingled and celebrated with the winners as well as their families, co-workers and friends. The ANGLEC team also handed out random giveaways to on-lookers and pedestrians on route.

Each of the 19 billing cycle winners received a beautiful Holiday themed gift basket with hundreds of dollars of goods, to include; ANGLEC Promotional items, gourmet snack items, shopping vouchers from local supermarkets, interior LED lights, as well as their choice of a Ham or Turkey, Wine or Apple Cider and an electricity Bill Credit worth EC $250.00.

One lucky Grand Prize winner, Mr. Eustace Thomas received all the previously mentioned gifts, plus an EC$500.00 electricity Bill Credit (instead of EC$250.00) and a 43” Samsung Smart TV.

When asked how he felt about being the grand prize winner Mr. Thomas remarked enthusiastically, “Oh man! It feels very good, yes, everything about it was good!”

ANGLEC’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Jemila Morson-Hodge, noted that seeing reactions like Mr. Thomas’ was heartwarming for everyone at ANGLEC who worked hard to make the initiative a success.

The goal with this entire initiative was simply to extend the holiday celebrations and reconnect ANGLEC with the community in creative and meaningful ways. We had no idea how impactful it was going to be for us (ANGLEC staff) too, but we had a lot of fun while doing our best to spread appreciation, goodwill and joy as we started the new year.

The joy was evident through the many candid reactions from each prize winner during and after the Holiday Parade.

Mrs. Carolyn Richardson, the winner for billing cycle #19 summarized the sentiments of the 2018-2019 promotions perfectly in her elated remarks to the ANGLEC team.

“Thank you!” she said. “This is a good way to start the new year, with the spirit of giving. I’m so happy about this and I will continue in that spirit too…to make a difference in people’s lives because you have made a difference in my life. This tells me that it’s very important to give, and when you give, you are blessed!”

ANGLEC encourages one and all to continue in the spirit of joyful giving, even as the Holiday season ends.
