Dear Anguillian
I went with several friends from the states for a guided tour of the Wallblake Historic House. We were greeted by Ms. Jasmin Garraway and joined by two ladies, Blondell born and raised in Anguilla and Olga the daughter of an Anguillan. We were taken through each charming room and explained the many historical Anguillian objects and presented a vivid image of life on Anguilla in years gone by.
The local ladies added many memories and explanations from their parents, neighbors and childhood as they looked at the treasures on display. We now have a new appreciation of the cotton and salt industries and how it shaped the character of Anguilla.
This Museum is so professionally presented in a building that is a historical gem, I hope that Anguillians, young and old and all visitors are introduced to this time travel experience about life on Anguilla. I understand that there are ongoing projects to restore the site and special plans for the future of this wonderful exhibit.
This is a Thank you to the Ministry of Tourism and Ms Garraway. I look forward to return visits as this project expands.
