The UWI Alumni Association – Anguilla Chapter is the local arm of the regional Association and incorporates graduates from all four campuses of the UWI (Mona, St. Augustine, Cave Hill and the Open Campus). The Association is dedicated to the advancement of the University of the West Indies as a centre of excellence in the Caribbean through the mobilisation of its graduates. Through outreach and networking, local Chapters seek to engage graduates from all campuses and disciplines in the promotion of personal and professional development, fundraising, involvement in the work of the Campuses and providing support and mentorship for local staff and students.
The new Executive is extending its appreciation to the outgoing officers, including immediate Past President Mr. Stanley Reid, Mrs. Meredith Connor, Ms. Chevonne da Souza, Mrs. Vernice Proctor, Ms. Carla Richards, Mrs. Jocelyne Mills and Ms. Avon Carty for their contributions and continued commitment to the work of the Association on Anguilla. According to incoming President, Ms. Yvette Wallace, the new Executive is looking forward to working with all the stakeholders to realise the objectives of the Association. “It is truly humbling to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading this Association. With all the opportunities and challenges that come with our acceptance to serve, we are certain that with the help and support of the membership, staff and students, we can transform these challenges and opportunities into stories of success and triumph,” she said.
All UWI Graduates are encouraged to become involved in the work of the Anguilla Chapter. Registration forms can be obtained at The UWI Open Campus in Pope Hill and persons desirous of additional information can contact the Association by emailing anguilla@open.uwi.edu or calling 1-264-497-8156.
