The Revised Draft Labour Code has now been presented to Executive Council before being taken to the House of Assembly later on for approval. The first draft was widely published and discussed across the island for public information and comment and was accordingly revised following a set of amendments reflecting the views of a number of persons.
The draft legislation was taken to the House of Assembly in February this year but was withdrawn for another set of meetings and discussions for the views of various other persons and business places. It was sent back to the Attorney General’s Chambers for the amendments to be made. The draft legislation now has several sections and is called The Labour Relations Bill.
The draft Bill was the subject of a broadcast/interview on Radio Anguilla on Tuesday night, October 9. The speakers were the Minister if Home Affairs, Mrs. Cora Richardson Hodge and her Ministerial Assistant, Mrs. Evalie Bradley. The Moderato was Mr. Mark Romney, Ministerial Assistant, Public Relations.
