Ten officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force completed a one day training exercise in prisoner custody care and documentation on Thursday 23rd August 2018. The training was geared towards heightened officers’ awareness of the role and responsibilities entrusted to them in their capacity as custody officers.
The sessions were highly interactive and the officers reacted positively to the training. Many questions as it relates to standard operating procedure were addressed. The officers are now in a better position to deal with detained persons having regards for all the legal and humanitarian documentation and conventions surrounding detained persons,
The RAPF is soon to implement a fully electronic custody register system which will complement the ongoing refurbished custody block at its compound. The training was facilitated by Commissioner of Police Mr Paul Morrison QPM, MBA and Public Media Relations Officer and Acting Sergent Mr Randy Dick, Bsc.
