The Anguillian newspaper has observed that, in addition to other church buildings which have already been repaired, two more are now in the course of repair following Hurricane Irma.
The latest are the historic Bethel Methodist Church at South Hill which was originally built by slaves. It lost the western section of its wooden roof. The entire roof is now down with the start of the reconstruction work, and preparations are underway to work on the walls and later on a new roof.
The other church building under reconstruction is the Church of God of Prophecy at South Hill, now renamed “Iglesia de Dios Del La Profecia”. The rebuilding is from the foundation level up.
