CARIBBEAN OPTIMISTS ASSIST INJURED COLLEAGUE IN ANGUILLA

Mr. Randy Hodge receiving funds from Ms. Avon Carty

Members of the Young Adults Optimist Clubs in the Caribbean have donated some much-needed financial assistance to Randy Hodge, a former colleague in Anguilla who was severely injured in a shooting incident in February this year.

Optimist Avon Carty, who read a letter to Randy from the Optimists, said at the presentation ceremony that the money totalled just over US$516.  It was collected at a recent regional meeting inBarbadosto assist Randy with his medical expenses.

 

She said Optimist members from Zones 11, 12 and 13, comprising persons from Anguilla,Antigua,JamaicaandBarbados, had collected the funds from their members. They also held a silent and secret auction to raise funds.

 

“We can all begin to imagine your daily challenges, but rest assured that you are surrounded by the love and support of your fellow brothers and sisters in Optimism. We will continue to pray for your recovery,” the letter to Randy stated.

 

Randy, who was for some time a member of the Young Adults Optimist Club inAnguilla, was grateful for the kind thoughts and assistance of the Caribbean Optimists. Though wheel-chair bound, as a result of his injury, he expressed his belief that one day he would walk again.
