The genesis of this July month marks the end of another year for the Anguilla Toastmasters Club. The outgoing executive club officers would like to take this moment to thank the Anguillian community and Toastmasters International for continued support.
During this year, a resounding team effort allowed the club to receive one of the highest achievements-President’s Distinguished- which was maintained for five consecutive years. Members that contributed to this year’s honorary President’s Distinguished, received awards/ recognition in the following categories:
TM Michelle Pradel – Competent Leadership and Advanced Leader Bronze
TM Susan Hodge – Advanced Communicator Silver
TM Dilece Connor – Advanced Communicator Silver
TM Verlyndah Rogers – Competent Communicator
TM Eulah Barlette – Competent Communicator
TM Ricky Rouphine – Competent Communicator
TM Robertha Campbell – Competent Communicator
New membership also added to the club becoming a recipient of the aforementioned award. Our new members are TM Cassilda Thomas-Carty, TM Carlisle Lake, TM Cheryl Skellekie, and TM Meridith Gumbs.
The mission of Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
At the change of the board ceremony, Immediate Past President Dilece Connor acknowledged two individuals for their invaluable efforts during the course of the year. TM Michelle Pradel received the Toastmaster of the Year Award. She was always willing to provide assistance and take up roles to ensure the each activity was successfully executed. Her welcoming demeanor is the epitome of a Toastmaster.
The Executive (Club Officer) of the Year Award was given to TM Vaughn Hazell. TM Vaughn accepted the role of Sergeant –at- Arms and maintained a positive attitude towards his position throughout the year. Although his role seems very rigid and serious, TM Vaughn led many educational sessions with enthusiasm that helped to create a zealous environment.
The outgoing executive board wishes to acknowledge Immediate Past President Dilece Connor ACB, ALB, on her commendable efforts as well. She led her club with systematic sophistication. TM was clear on what she envisioned for the year 2017/2018 as president. During her time in office, she represented Anguilla and participated in the District 81 Toastmasters regional conference in Port- au- Prince, Haiti from May 17th to 20th 2018. Her diligence has been a great deal to the club’s success this year. She was assisted by her executive:
