Child Evangelism Fellowship® of Anguilla has just concluded a 30-hour course called “Teaching Little Kids”. Some seventeen women from several Bible-believing churches took this course to help equip them to better reach pre-schoolers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Like Jesse Overholster, the founder of Child Evangelism Fellowship, they have come to believe, as Charles Spurgeon has said, “A child of five, if properly instructed, can as well come to believe in Jesus Christ as an adult”.
For a solid 9 days, every night these teachers in training sat under the instruction of Regional Education Directors, Bev Huff and Janet Snyder, to study the characteristics of these little precious ones, to hear of interesting ways to engage their 5 senses in teaching, to ensure their self-worth, the use of music in learning, constructing their own puppets and so much more.
Teachers have been heard to say things like, “I have been teaching in my church Sunday School for 20 years doing it the best way I know – having been self taught. Now I am better equipped to go all the way!”
“Teaching is a special calling. What is more important than taking this special calling to share the message of salvation with these little precious souls?”
“I have leaned many tips and hands on things. I have started putting these into practice in my home school….and they work!”
“I have found, and now clearly understand, my role in children’s ministry. This was made clear to me the very first night!”
“I have done a lot of studies in education in the secular field with excellence. I want to season this with the spiritual. God is setting me up big time for his plan. It was good to be here and to be challenged although I have been a teacher for over 30 years.”
Child Evangelism Fellowship® is indeed serious about training God’s people to reach every boy and girl in Anguilla with the gospel – as it is the “power of God unto salvation” and has the power to transform lives.
CEF invites you to a graduation ceremony on Sunday 8th April at 4:00 pm at the church of God Holiness where over 20 of its students from two courses will be awarded their well-earned certificates in two courses. These courses have been conducted through Children’s Ministries Institute in Missouri and their credits are recognized by Christian schools and several universities in the U.S.A.
