During the month of February, the Anguilla Toastmasters Executive hosted the second Club Officers’ Training session. Our Area Director Cherry-ann Casimir conducted the session in which we reviewed areas of growth and development for our club. Additionally, President Dilece made a presentation from the ‘ Building a Healthy Team: Participant’s Manual’ that focused on trust and cohesion. We participated in an exercise that as individuals, highlighted our behavioural attitudes that contributes to healthy team building.
For our general club sessions, we kept within the theme of celebrating black pride and excellence. Our prepared speeches highlighted advocacy for oppressed groups of peoples and the great strides taken to remove them from that oppressed state of being.
Our invited guests- Natalie Richardson, Brendon Jeffers, Kaitia Clifton and Cleo Fleming- all did a great job during Table Topics -our impromptu speaking session! We commend them for being confident enough to take up a task that so many shy away from.
The mission of Toastmasters is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills , which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
Be our guest! Join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at the Anguilla Community College @ 6:45pm.
