The Staff of the ALHCS – 125 strong – continue to brave the new reality of secondary school in Anguilla. For the first time ever, a Shift System is in operation at the School occasioned by the loss of space at Campus A.
This new system sees some teachers work from 7.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.; a few from 12.15 to 5.10 p.m. and a sizeable number across both Shifts. The demands of this system can be quite taxing on the latter group. And still they persevere. Although often frustrated by less than ideal parent accountability and student cooperation, teachers dress up, show up and do a good job.
A special appeal can be sounded at this point to that special group of customers known as parents and guardians to consistently instill in their children and wards the attributes of respect, courtesy, discipline and diligence. Thank you to those that already do so. This makes the teachers’ role much more bearable as they seek to fulfill the Mission of the School. And guess who are the main beneficiaries!
Here is but a fraction of those people who make it happen at the ALHCS. Please lend them your support.
Mission of the ALHCS: The ALHCS is committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment conducive to the delivery of, first, a wide ranging curriculum that will allow all students the opportunity to excel, and, second, a personal development programme that will prepare all students to take their place as responsible individuals with the skills and attributes to contribute positively toward Anguillian society and an increasingly globalized world.
