Acting Commissioner of the Royal Anguilla Police Force, Mr. Elliott Forbes, has expressed thanks to all of his officers for their commitment to duty on two occasions.
He first thanked them on October 31, in an interview with The Anguillian, for their work relating to Hurricane Irma. His note of thanks, which was inadvertently omitted in the article, reads as follows:
“I would like to thank the entire staff of the Royal Anguilla Police Force for their hard work prior to, during, and after Hurricane Irma; and our civilian staff, as well, for the resilience and commitment they showed to serve the people of Anguilla.”
The second thank you from the Acting Commissioner was expressed at the Sandy Hill Cemetery immediately after the National Funeral on Saturday, November 4, when he congratulated the officers of the Force, and members of the the Police/Community Band, for their performance. He was pleased that they had overcome the stress and lethargy brought on by Hurricane Irma – and had performed exceptionally well at the funeral, thus maintaining the pride and dignity of the Police Force as a para-military body.
The performances of the Royal Anguilla Police Force at National Funerals, and other official events, always command much admiration and commendation from the public.
