Team Anguilla dominated at the 7th Annual Inter-Island Bodybuilding, Fitness and Physique Co
mpetition in St. Maarten.
The competition which was organized by the Bodybuilding and Fitness Association of St. Martin (BFASM) was held on Saturday July 1st, at Casino Royale in Maho, and was keenly contested.
It drew over sixty athletes from eleven islands namely: Jamaica, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Trinidad, Barbados, Aruba, Antigua, Grenada, Anguilla and host country St. Martin/Maarten.
The delegation of thirteen athletes from Anguilla showed up and showed out, winning six of the eight categories they entered.
In Junior Physique, Hilroy Alfred placed first while Stephon Johnson placed second.
Juniors Bikini, Nicole Gumbs placed first and Anesia Powell third.
Men’s Physique (170-174cm) first place was awarded to Duquaine Brooks.
Bodybuilding (85kg-100kg) was won by Geshaune Clarke who also won overall best poser.
In Men’s Physique (174+) first place went to MacWhirr Lewis who also won the overall award for Men’s Physique.
The Bikini category was won by Roxanne Pinnock and she like her counterparts also won the overall award.
Bodybuilding (100kg+) Verdine Connor walked away with the third place trophy.
Also, bringing in another trophy was Amanda Richardson who placed second in Body Fitness.
Other participating athletes were Desmond Paul, Shamicah Rey and Daequan Federicks.
The Anguilla Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (AABFF) would like to thank all their supporters for travelling to St. Maarten to cheer them on. They would also like to encourage persons to come out and support the local show on Saturday, July 8th at the Rodney McArthur Rey Auditorium at 8pm. Tickets are on sale for $10US and will be $15US at the door and are available Dungeon Gym and Fitness Center, Xtreme Fitness Gym, Results Driven Fitness Centre, LaSeverine Fitness Centre, Flow, Leah’s Locs and all AABFF Members.
