Commenting on the matter, the Minister later told The Anguillian:

“As you would expect, I am very happy and I must express deep appreciation to all of the appropriate persons who have been involved in making this success possible.
“The restoration of the Aerodrome Certificate is indeed a great joy for all of us here in Anguilla especially facing the Thanksgiving vacation season when we expect a number of jets and other aircraft to fly to the island.

“We are also very happy because the link with Seaborne Airlines between Anguilla and Puerto Rico has also been restored and is being revitalised. You will hear more about it from the Tourist Board.

“As I said, I want thank all the persons on the Air and Sea Ports Authority Board including the Chairman, Mr. Marcel Fahie. I also want to thank Mr. Allan Sharp and Mr. Allen Barnett. I would also like to express my appreciation to the Fire Service guys; to my Permanent Secretary, Larry Franklin; and my Ministerial colleagues in Government. We also had some mechanics on the island – and Derrick Romney who assisted us by responding to the crisis we had with the fire trucks.

“All-in-all, I am happy and I hope that we can go forward. We have to keep our eyes on the ball because there are a number of outstanding issues that we have to continue to address overtime. I am sure that given the attention and the interest that everyone has had, we will have success once we continue to display that interest going forward.”
