Anguilla’s multi-talented craftsman and businessman, Cheddi Richardson, of Cove Road, West End, has presented the Anguilla Electricity Company with a First Customer Award, a new initiative he has come up with.
“Over the years, I have been presenting Customer of the Year Awards. From last year, I thought I should also present a First Customer of the Year Award. In 2011 ANGLEC was the first customer to have come to Cheddi’s Sandblasting and Promotional Products for their Christmas giveaways.” Those gifts usually include class carvings and engraved pens.
Mr. Richardson said the above company (Cheddie’s Sandblasting) had now been grouped under Cheddi’s Enterprises to reflect the multi-businesses in his ownership. They comprise Klassique Café, Cool Deck – a tent and chair rental business; a pool maintenance enterprise; Cheddi’s Sandblasting and Promotional Products, and Petite Gift Shop which sells various souvenir items (he designed), as well as t-shirts and caps.
ANGLEC’s General Manager, Thomas Hodge, said he was aware of the importance of local businesses and the contribution they make to the Anguillian community. “ANGLEC has always tried to foster good relationships with our suppliers,” he went on. “Therefore, receiving this award, I think it is special for us because it shows that we are making strides in this area, and we always want to continue fostering good relationships with our suppliers.
“Cheddi has always been a very efficient and loyal business partner working with ANGLEC, and we are very much appreciative of receiving this award.”
Mr. Hodge added that ANGLEC normally purchased promotional items such as pens with the company’s logo and other gifts at Christmas time.
