ALHCS Literary and Debating Society in St. Maarten to defend LIDC Championship

The Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School Literary and Debating Society, whose motto is “Empowered minds advancing solutions through constructive arguments with great zeal,” will be participating in the 44th Annual Leeward Islands Debating Competition (LIDC).
This year, the competition will be hosted by the Literary and Debating Society in the island of Saint Maarten (SXM) from the 24th of February to the 29th of February, 2016. The ALHCS’s debaters are T’arah T. A. Niles, Zipporah Bannister, Arielle Gaskin, Kevin Thompson, Shauna-Kae Lake and Chadd Hodge. They will be chaperoned by Chief Staff Sponsor Mrs Charmine Rey-Richardson along with 7 other staff members, sponsors and 25 supporters.

The ALHCS Society would like to express gratitude to all of its sponsors for making the trip possible. It is currently the defending champion of the Leeward Islands Debating Competition and hopes to return victorious once again.
The Society’s activities can be followed via its facebook page ‘ALHCS Literary and Debating Society’ where it will post regularly during the competition as well as throughout the year.
