Two senior officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force have benefitted from a workshop on Kidnapping, Extortion and Product Contamination in Miami during the period 18th – 22nd January, 2016.
The workshop which was conducted by the National Crime Agency was presented by Roy Sinclair and David Griffiths was attended by Acting Superintendent Emris Rogers and Inspector Marva Brooks.
The aim of the workshop was to provide the Overseas Territories, Senior Investigating Officers (SIO) and Strategic Leaders with an awareness of the Tactical and Strategic Response of Law enforcement when investigating reports of Kidnapping, Extortion or Product Contamination.
Participants were also exposed to the Investigative Structure used when investigating such matters, the development of information, the rescue and recovery of hostages as well closing and debrief of the operation and hostages.
“The workshop was very informative even though in the Anguilla and the other Overseas Territories there are little or no incidents of such,” said Insp. Marva Brooks. “Both the Acting Superintendent and I are now better equipped with the necessary tools, knowledge and skills to deal with such incidents if they ever occur.”
The RAPF’s participation in the workshop was facilitated by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Governor’s Office here in Anguilla.
