The Anguilla office of MASA Assist walked away with the Salesman of the Year and Consistency Award for Ira Richardson, and the especially prestigious, “Office Of The Year” prize at the MASA Assist awards ceremony held in Dallas Texas on the 11th of December. Attended by representatives from all twelve MASA offices throughout the Caribbean and the top executives of the company, the awards ceremony was the highlight of the annual gathering where the company gets together to review the year and exchange ideas to improve the service and the product.
The office prize was based on a number of criteria including new sales, consistency, efficiency and customer satisfaction. While making the awards Mr Reggie Anderson, senior Vice President of International sales, commented on the feeling of family and community that was so evident in both the Anguilla office and the island as a whole. “The Anguilla office and community embody the spirit of the MASA Assist organization where we feel that all of our members are family and we always go the extra mile for family”.
Accepting the award for the office, Country Manager Donald Curtis praised the performance of his staff including Chandra Hughes and Merlyne Gumbs who he noted “Worked tirelessly to ensure that both our members and the company were served to the best of their ability”. He also praised the MASA Assist transport staff who always made sure that all evacuations were handled efficiently and professionally.
Mr Richardson, also known as “dj Richie” to his fans on Upbeat radio and all around the Island, attributed his success to hard work, a commitment to excellence and a natural enthusiasm that came from being able to share the wonderful service with the people of Anguilla.
“I want to commend the people of Anguilla for their foresight and discipline in seeing the importance of being prepared in the case of emergency and maintaining their membership despite economic hurdles”. He pointed out that in many cases members were paying not only for themselves but for many other family members and friends. This year’s meeting was particularly important as the company announced plans to expand its services highlighted by the creation of a new holding company named MASA Global that would control three divisions including MASA assist.
While making the announcement Mr. Anderson emphasized the company’s commitment to its core air ambulance service while pointing out the natural synergies that existed for the addition of other medical and funeral services. The addition of the MASA Global name reflects the company’s undisputed leadership in providing complete and affordable medical transportation solutions. The ceremonies concluded with Mr. Richardson promising to keep all the prizes in Anguilla. He confidently stated that “Once we get our hands on these trophies we are never letting go!”
