For the entire Christmas and New Year holiday period, more than forty executive jets crowded both the eastern and western parking ramps at the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport in Anguilla.

The parked aircraft facilitated many persons, classified as ‘the rich and famous’, who took up bookings at hotel and villa properties for the duration of the holiday period. The parked jets had nothing to do with a number of additional jet aircraft which zoomed in and out of Anguilla dropping off and picking passengers who came in for short periods of stay.

Mr. Dwight Carty, Supervisor at Lloyd’s Aviation, the local ground handling and fuel supplying company, said it was a very busy time for the staff. He stated that the availability of the western parking ramp, provided by Lloyd’s Aviation, contributed greatly to accommodating the long-staying jets, thus reducing the pressure on the eastern parking ramp owned by Government. Combined, the jets parked at the two ramps exceeded the number recorded last year.

The jets, which flew directly to Anguilla from the United States and Europe, included Global Express, Gulfstream 650s and 1320s and Falcons 7X.
