Thank You Staff of Princess Alexandra Hospital
My wife Ellen and I, residents of North Hill for the past eighteen years, would like to thank all the personnel at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for the prompt, professional and caring manner in which my recent emergency hospitalization was handled.
Early on Sunday morning, April 1, I fell backwards from a height of seven feet onto the hard ground, severely injuring my back.
Immediately, my wife called 911 and the EMS Ambulance arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was carefully transported to the Emergency Room, promptly examined and x-rayed and subsequently admitted to the hospital where I remained for three days.
As I required a CT Scan to determine the extent of my injuries, the hospital made all the arrangements to have me flown by the Air Ambulance to St. Martin on Monday morning. The scan showed a small fracture on a lumbar vertebra and also on the pelvis. I was put on strict bed rest.
After being discharged from the hospital on April 4th, I was brought home by ambulance on stretcher as I was still unable to walk and in pain. It was with great consideration that the driver of the ambulance eased the vehicle slowly and gently down our bumpy dirt lane.
I’m now recuperating and should make a complete recovery in the coming weeks.
Again, many thanks to the hospital staff for the kind, efficient care I received.
Appreciatively,
Bernard Holland
