Mr. Cyril Fitsimmons made a significant contribution to the Health Authority of Anguilla, on Friday 18th December, 2015 in true Christmas spirit.
Mr. Kent Webster, on behalf of Mr. Cyril Fitzsimmons, made the presentation of four computers and printers to the Health Authority to be utilized by the nurses at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH). Ms. Erdelle Flemming, Ward Manager, observed: “These computers will assist us in our daily duties as nurses. The use of technology has revolutionized the nursing profession. We, as nurses, have advanced technically and clinically. There is now a new area of nursing known as nursing informatics – a mixture of computer skills and information science, to promote and support the practice of nursing and delivery of safe nursing skills”.
Mr. Kent Webster highlighted that initially it was Mr. Fitsimmons’ aim to donate some air conditioning units to the Health Authority. However, that need was met by the Anguilla Social Security Board. He noted that Cyril visits Anguilla annually and habitually makes contributions to various organizations/projects on the island.
The Health Authority of Anguilla thanked Mr. Fitsimmons for his contribution, as well as Mr. Webster for delivering the equipment.
