The Royal Anguilla Police Force today Tuesday 9th June, 2015 received some very valuable photographic equipment thanks to a kind contribution by the Governor’s Office.
The equipment a Canon Camera and lens and Camcorder were presented to the RAPF Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rudolph Proctor and Public and Media Relation Officer, Sgt. Chrispen Gumbs at a brief ceremony at Government House.
HE the Governor Christina Scott said “I am delighted to present the RAPF with professional photographic equipment which will enhance their delivery of communications to the public. A strong an informed relationship between the police and the public is key to the wellbeing of any community and I am impressed by the strides that RAPF Sgt. Chrispen Gumbs has made in public and media relations since the inception of the office in January of this year.”
In accepting the equipment Commissioner Proctor said, “We are indeed grateful to HE and the Staff of the Governor’s Office as well as the staff of the IT Unit for providing us with this much need equipment which will no doubt go a long way in making the work of the Public and Media Relation Officer, Sgt. Gumbs more meaningful. The Anguillan public deserves to be informed and the RAPF has a responsibility to do just that.”
Sgt. Gumbs stated, “The Public and Media Relations Department can now forge ahead with providing a more improve standard of coverage thanks to the presentation of the camera and camcorder. I am indeed grateful that HE the Governor could make this valuable presentation to the RAPF and by extension the people of Anguilla.”
The equipment was purchased to the tune of US $1,500.00.
