Senior Probation Officer Mr. Rolandson N. Lynch of the Adult Unit, Department of Probation on Thursday April 16, 2015 handed over to the Chief Probation Officer, Ms. Jocelyn Johnson the Parole Information Package. This package contains all relevant documentation that will be used by the Department as it fulfills its mandate of managing the parole process.
In Anguilla, the Parole Act was passed in September of 2011 with an Amendment being made in December of 2012 to facilitate the implantation of the Parole Process. This new arrangement had significant implications and required a paradigm shift in service delivery for the Department of Probation. A large portion of this shift was to develop documents, processes and procedures which would facilitate the Department’s operational requirements and obligations. The main document of the Information Package is the Department’s first Parole Policy & Procedural Manual which was researched and written by Mr. Lynch and addresses the organisation’s operational mandates. The other members of the Unit namely; Miss. Keri Gumbs, Miss Shanette Brooks and Mrs. Karen Fleming also assisted in the realization of the Parole Information Package.
In receiving the Package Ms. Johnson commended the hard work of the Adult Unit in seeing the finalisation of all elements necessary for the effective supervision of person’s on Licence. She added that it will go a long way towards ensuring that the level of service provided to all persons is consistent and in keeping with the policies and processes established.
