The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association has introduced an Entertainment Award as part of its Annual Gala Dinner Awards event to be held at Viceroy Anguilla on Friday, December 5.
LIME Anguilla, calling the event an exciting occasion, has made a financial donation to the AHTA in sponsorship of the new award as well as the after party.
“Today is quite an exciting day for us here at LIME as we continue our sponsorship and partnership with the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association,” LIME’s Marketing Manager, Jade Reymond, told reporters on Tuesday. “We are pleased to welcome Gilda Gumbs-Samuel from the AHTA as we embark on our new journey for the upcoming gala event through our sponsorship. Our sponsorship is to the tune of about US$1,750 (EC$4,700) which includes the entertainment aspect of the event and the new Entertainment Award.”
Mrs Gumbs-Samuel, Executive Director of the AHTA, was pleased to have LIME Anguilla on board with the gala dinner event, and explained that the sponsorship would go towards the after party at the resort’s Sunset Lounge.
“We are also very excited to have LIME on board as the sponsor of the Entertainer of the Year Award. It is a new award in this year’s line-up,” she stated. “The process of the nomination has been fun. We gave it to the members of the AHTA to decide and it has been going back and forth between two people until we finally narrowed it down to one person and we are excited about that.”
The awardee will not be announced until the night of the awards. According to the Executive Director, there are thirteen awards this year, the most prestigious being Hotelier of the Year Award.
LIME Anguilla’s Country Manager, Mathieu Dion, said the telecommunications company was honoured to be part of the gala event, especially in sponsoring the Entertainer of the Year Award. “I believe it is a great association and we are very proud and pleased to be part of it,” he added.
