Fitness instructor, Marissa Hughes, told the Dungeon Gym class that awareness was necessary especially at a time when persons were being bombarded by GMO foods, sedentary lifestyles and non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.

She also said there had been an increase in the number of cases of cancer in Anguilla and worldwide.

“Research shows that a healthy diet and an active lifestyle can in some cases prevent or reduce the likelihood of developing some of these diseases, Mrs Hughes said.

She added that Dungeon Gym was offering a free fitness class to encourage, motivate and make persons aware of breast cancer and how exercise played a positive role in a healthy lifestyle.

Mrs Hughes along with the assistance of Shantelle Richardson and Chrislyn Hughes, pushed the Dungeon Gym class through an intense but fun one-hour routine.
The fitness instructor informed all the participants of the breast cancer awareness walkathon hosted by Anguilla Cancer Society on Friday, October 24 and encouraged them to support the cause.
