Fifty students graduated from the Orealia Kelly Primary School on July 5, where the theme of the ceremony was “Together we Aspire, Together we Achieve.”
The keynote speaker was Shellya Rogers, a former student, now the reigning Miss Anguilla. She also placed first runner-up in the recent Miss Caribbean World Pageant.

The Valedictory Speech was delivered byTsani Rogers who recalled her years at the school from kindergarten to grade six. “Our teachers sacrificed a lot of their time and continued to mold us, to counsel us and advise us,” the young student stated. “Our teachers were very instrumental during those years. They really made a difference in our lives.”

She continued: “Our teachers were like our parents, our friends, like our brothers and sisters. They should be appreciated because of the difference they made.
“Graduating class of 2011, let us not forget that life is about learning. Academics may become more challenging and things may become a little more ‘shaken up and stirred up’ as we move forward. But if we keep our focus and be dedicated to the principles of our upbringing we can continue to make a difference in our lives and the lives of those around us.

“We were taught well and therefore have the potential to make a difference. First, however, we must be true to the values that were ingrained in us by our teachers at the Orealia Kelly Primary School. Secondly, we must remain committed to our purpose, our lofty goals and our dreams.

“Fellow graduates, let us be prepared to work hard and accept the challenges that come our way. With strong determination, hard work and the necessary commitment, we can make a difference. Let us remain focused, committed to serve and determined to succeed.”
