In addition to a number of similar incidents elsewhere in Anguilla, a robbery at White Hill, in the eastern area of the island, is being investigated by the police.
A release from the law enforcement agency, this week, stated that at about 2.38 pm on Wednesday, August 20, a man wearing a grey-coloured hood, and armed with a gun, entered the Chinese Supermarket at the White Hill. He robbed the business the cashier of over US$600.00.
The Royal Anguilla Police Force is appealing to anyone with information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Department.
Meanwhile, the regular police report for the period August 20-27 stated that there were nine serious offences. These included two burglaries at Stoney Ground and The Valley; and six thefts at Shoal Bay, Long Bay, George Hill, Deep Waters and Long Path.
The stolen items included a cellular phone, plywood, a car battery, a pump and cash.
Four persons were arrested during the period as follows: two males for possession of cannabis; one male for assault; and one female for immigration purposes.
There were six traffic accidents.
