The Department of Youth & Culture in Anguilla is experiencing one of its busiest periods working with young people on the island.
The Department has brought in two consultants in the persons of Mr John Roach, Chief Youth Development Officer of the Commonwealth of Dominica, and Mr Brendan Defoe, Chief Instructor for Youth Entrepreneurial Business Development also of Dominica. They will be here throughout this month conducting a series of training sessions.

One area of the training, under the “Get Set” programme, is for young entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. The second part is for persons targeted as trainers and those identified as mentors, both to support the National Entrepreneurial Programme and young persons venturing in business.
There are twenty-five young entrepreneurs involved in the training being held nightly at the Teachers’ Resource Centre for three weeks. The training of sixteen trainers and eleven mentors has been taking place this week at the Anguilla Community College.

The Department of Youth and Culture is perhaps the leading Government agency involved in youth development in Anguilla.
