The touring party included Her Excellency Governor Christina Scott, who has responsibility for the operations of the prison; Chief Minister and Minister of Social Development, Hubert Hughes, whose ministry is responsible for the administration of the prison; his Permanent Secretary, Dr Bonnie Richardson Lake; Minister of Home Affairs, Jerome Roberts and his Principal Assistant Secretary, Kenneth Hodge, and the Minister of Infrastructure, Evan Gumbs.

The officials concluded their tour by visiting a display of various weapons, drugs, over 100 cellular phones and chargers, lighters, and other forbidden items found in the prison cells or outside on the compound over a period of time. Many of the items were believed to have been thrown over the fence to the inmates by persons travelling in the area or smuggled into the prison. Some of the weapons were crudely made by the inmates themselves but showing much creativity and at the same time causing much concern to prison officers.

The weapons and other items were either to be destroyed or handed over to the Police.
