Dr Ellis Lorenzo Webster, Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist, with offices in Anguilla and Florida, has donated ten Laptop computers to the Morris Vanterpool Primary School, formerly the East End Primary School. The donation was made over the past weekend.
Those at the presentation included Mrs Celestine John, Principal; Mrs Chanelle Petty Barrett, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education; Mr Winston Duncan, Education Officer; Teacher Connie Liburd; Dr Webster and is brother, Evan Webster; Mr Karl T Smith and others.
Mrs John, Mrs Petty Barrett and Mr Duncan thanked Dr Webster for his generous donation. They assured him that the computers would certainly be put to good use by the students.
Responding, Dr Webster, whose educational foundation was laid at that school, expressed delight to have been in a position to present the gifts. He thought the sacrifice was necessary to assist the students with the tools to enable them to compete on a global basis. He took the opportunity to mention how a former teacher at the school, Mrs Daisy Richardson, had a profound influence on him in his early years and he thanked her for that.
Mr Karl T. Smith was happy that Dr Webster had responded positively to his prompting to contribute the computers to the school. He was pleased that Dr Webster’s family had also recently donated computers to the Vivien Vanterpool School at Island Harbour.
