Teachers in all six pre-schools in Anguilla have benefitted from two weeks of interaction with eight college students from SUNY, Coble-Skill. The visiting students were attached to the pre-schools and both them and the Anguillian teachers were able to share some very useful knowledge and experience.
In addition, Mrs Sandy Malcolm, who accompanied the college students from New York to Anguilla, conducted two seminars for the teachers – one on assessment in the preschool classroom and the other on reflective teaching. She was assisted by Mrs Bonito Klemm, a colleague residing in Anguilla.
The Ministry and Department of Education are grateful for this opportunity whereby the teachers and the visiting students were able to work with, and learn, from each other.
Mrs Susan Smith, Education Officer for Pre and Primary Education, worked closely with all parties and has extended her personal thanks, and that of the Ministry and Department, to all concerned for their cooperation and commitment.
SUNY Coble-Skill and the Ministry and Department of Education in Anguilla have had a long working relationship over the years.
