The Police reported that on January 1, 2014, shortly after 6.30 am, they responded to a shooting incident at a night club in Blowing Point.

It was later reported that a young man had visited the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a gunshot wound to his foot. The victim was treated and discharged.
The Police subsequently arrested and charged Michael Tyson of South Hill, who is certified to carry a firearm. However, he alleged that it was discharged accidently at the night club.
