To The Editor – The Anguillian
Dear Sir:
Something to think about.
That new road (south of the Police Station)which was contracted out back in 2011 is now finished. The reasoning behind this road at this particular timebaffles me as well as a number of other citizens. There is a perfectly good road just to the north of this new road (St. Mary’s Road) and another fairlygood functioning road just to the south of this new road, (the Airport Road).
Now there are three roads (east to west), almost within hailing distance of each other, connecting the same bits of road running north to south. Who is paying for this new road? We all love new roads but why build that one now when the other Valley roads are in such a deplorable condition? And why not build a straight road? Even a child knows it costs more to build a crooked road than a straight one!
Some areas are so lucky! The road in to North Hill village has not been resurfaced in over thirty years. I believe the late Mr. Wallace Rey was responsible for that job. Meanwhile, we wait and hope.
All is not lost, however.Much thanks and appreciation go to whoever is responsible for the orange reflectors that have been installed on a number of telephone poles along the main roads. Something like this was needed for a long time and driving at night has now become a lot safer. Very smart thinking. Thanks again.
Till next time. Best wishes.
A North Hill Resident
