Saturday September 7thmarked Anguilla’s 4th Extreme Bake Off Competition hosted by the Jesus Christ V.I.P’s of Anguilla.The aim for the recall of such an event is – To promote and expose natural gifting of talent. This is also done with the hope that this event will draw large volumes of persons to our island, thus boosting our economy; and finally our hope is that this event will grow into an international affair.
Mrs Ronya Foy Connor welcomed all guess present then the National Song was sung while those present stood in respect. Pastor Dexter Welcome gave the official opening prayer that evening. Ronya then introduced the main moderators in the persons of Kasseem Forde and Lisa Hodge – President of the hosting group.Excitement hit the room like a bolt of lightning and the crowd rowed as the show was about to begin.
Six teams registered for this year’s event. One team was unable to compete, however, due to unforeseen circumstances. They were the group Elmag (Elridge Richardson and Margret Richardson) their absence was greatly felt. Included in the five teams were seventeen (17) participants three groups of four (4) one group of three (3) and one group of two (2).
The teams who participated were:

2. Sugarlicious Creations – Mary Smith, Carlton Smith, Gwendolyn Smith
3. The Jesus Christ VIP’s – Avenelle Smith, Dawn Reid, Anik Clarke, Rakeem Jones Smith
4. Lowell & Stacy – Lowell Hodge, Stacy Hodge, Delvin Hodge, Glenneva Hodge
5. Blend of Inspiration Judy Lake Connor, Shirmel Gumbs, Mariann Abbott and Fabian Abbott
The emerging Winning Team this year was “Necia’s Cakes & Bakes”.
The introduction of the sitting Judges was announced as they stood in recognition; these included:

TOKENS – were distributed for the question and answer quiz done by Kasseem and Lisa
Two raffles were done and the prizes won were 1 massage, 1 lunch for 2 at Geraud’s patisserie, and 2, US$30.00 gas vouchers.
A mini modeling show was also included in this extraordinary evening. The models included Anthia and little daughter Azharia Davis, Ronya Foy Connor and Glender Mac. These ladies lit up the entire night modeling the national wear for Dominica, St Martin and Anguilla.
Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to God Almighty for staying the rain and for allowing the event to be a great success.
