Greg Ramey, Managing Director, BermudAir Holidays, and Julie Rempel, Head of Marketing, BermudAir, met with officials from MICUH, the Anguilla Tourist Board, and the Ministry of Health, Sports and Tourism.
BermudAir executives recently paid a courtesy visit to Minister Jose Vanterpool, the Hon. Parliamentary Secretary Cordell Richardson, the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB), and officials from the Ministry of Health, Sports and Tourism to discuss the airline’s operations and opportunities for collaboration. With 7,000 seats committed to Anguilla in its inaugural season, BermudAir emphasized the strength of the Boston market (currently outpacing Baltimore 2:1) and discussed the potential of adding additional routes.
The airline anticipates a 70-80% load factor, with strong bookings since launch and a peak booking phase expected in August–September. Discussions included potential adjustments to cutoff dates and strategies to incorporate local experience providers, including efforts to grow new sectors such as dive tourism. BermudAir expressed its intention to work with local vendors to support Anguilla’s economic viability through curated, small-scale experiences, facilitated by both online booking options and in-house concierge services.
The meeting also explored how BermudAir could reinforce Anguilla’s identity onboard by offering local food and rum punch, sourcing products from local businesses, and inviting Anguillian designers to suggest uniform designs. Minister Vanterpool emphasized the importance of highlighting Anguilla’s culture and heritage as part of the tourism product, expanding sponsorships, and promoting Anguilla’s unique assets, its people, beaches, and cuisine.
BermudAir highlighted its strong corporate responsibility record in Bermuda and expressed a willingness to extend this approach to Anguilla, including the potential inclusion of local flight attendants and pilots. The ATB reiterated the importance of outreach to smaller accommodations and Destination Management Companies (DMCs). Both parties agreed to continue discussions around travel trade engagement and sponsorship opportunities, including the potential for a Sustainability Conference in 2026.
