Anguilla Enhancement Project (AEP) Representatives with members of Tackling Estate

The Anguilla Enhancement Project (AEP) awarded the village of Tackling Estate as Most Patriotic Village in this year’s Best Village Competition, held as part of the island’s Anguilla Day celebrations. The community also swept several other categories, including Best Use of Recycling Material, Best Anguilla Day Community Space, Most Creative Display, and The People’s Choice Award.
Other villages also demonstrated outstanding spirit and creativity.
South Valley captured Awards for Best Village History Display, Best Anguilla Day Celebration, and Best Use of Cultural Wear.
North Hill received top honors for Best Local History Display, Best Night-Time Display, and Best Theme Display.
South Hill stood out with accolades for Best Photo-Op Area and Best Unified Message.
West End was awarded for Best Overall Use of National Colours and Best Anguilla Day Promotional Video.
Rey Hill earned recognition for the Best Interactive Photo-Op Area.
Island Harbour was celebrated for the Best Beach Display.
This year’s competition saw record-breaking participation, with registration doubling compared to previous years. For the first time, the AEP introduced special awards to highlight the many diverse and meaningful ways villages celebrated Anguilla’s heritage and unity.
AEP President Nakishma Rogers praised the overwhelming community engagement: “This year reignited the Anguillian spirit of unity and resilience in a way we haven’t seen in years. The participation and creativity were inspiring, and we’re especially thankful to everyone who gave their time, effort, and resources to make this month a remarkable success.”
She added that the displays and activities came at a time when the country needed it most: “The unity and pride displayed across the island are exactly what Anguilla needs as we face today’s challenges together.”
The AEP extends heartfelt thanks to all participating villages, volunteers, and supporters who made the 2025 Best Village Competition an uplifting celebration of national identity.
