Grand Prize Winner – Team Mercenaries – The Great Treasure Hunt 2024

On 25 February 2024, Quest Experiences (“Quest”) and What We Do In Anguilla (“WWDIA”) successfully hosted their annual island wide event, The Great Treasure Hunt, featuring a grand prize of US$1,000. Team “Mercenaries”, newcomers to the event, clinched the grand prize by securing the highest overall points. “Julucans” closely followed in second place, with “Clueminati” securing the third spot.

The Great Treasure Hunt 2024 challenged participating teams to traverse the island, moving from West End to Island Harbour, deciphering twenty (20) hints rooted in locations of historical and social significance. Additionally, teams engaged in four (4) culturally inspired activities designed to test their strategic thinking and performance speed and accuracy:

2nd place – Team Cap Juluca – The Great Treasure Hunt 2024

1. “Let it Rip!”: Teams revisited the tradition of spinning tops. The challenge was to keep their tops spinning for as long as possible.

2. “Fire Blaze”: Exploring the significance of fire from BBQ to bonfires and the Rock Oven, teams had to use provided items to ignite a flame that would burn a string positioned above the fire pit, with the team achieving the first string snap emerging victorious.

3. “Every day is…”: A relay-style activity inspired by the annual Sports Day event, featuring the Lime & Spoon, 3-legged Race, and Wheelbarrow Race.

3rd place – Clueminati – The Great Treasure Hunt 2024

4. “Who Know Fete”: A quiz on Anguilla’s carnival history, commemorating its 50th anniversary.

Quest and WWDIA express their heartfelt gratitude to all participating teams and sponsors, the Department of Youth and Culture (DYC) and ABC Supplies, for their invaluable support.

Mark your calendars for The Great Treasure Hunt 2025, scheduled for 23 February 2025. Anticipate another thrilling adventure!
