The Anguilla Tennis Academy (ATA) conducted the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) Level 1 Certification Course on October 11th and 12th at the ATA. The workshop was administered by Brian Parkkonen. The ATA coaches benefited tremendously from the training provided throughout the workshop. They are better equipped to coach our players enrolled in the ATA programs with current tennis knowledge and training techniques. Founder and President, Mitch Lake said, “ I understand how important it is to improve on coaching skills as well as student behavioral management. Therefore, this coaching workshop has further enhanced the quality of the services that the ATA coaching staff provides”.
Upon successful completion of the PTR Level 1 Certification course, the coaches will obtain the necessary skills and knowledge to directly impact young athletes in the ATA’s After School Program. Additionally, ATA students who are interested in teaching tennis will also have an opportunity to obtain the PTR Level 1 Certification. This initiative will allow our students to teach tennis and greatly improve their game and their ability to network with others in the tennis industry. The experience that will be gained from the PTR Level 1 Certification will open doors and many opportunities for both coaches and students in the Tennis industry.
Workshop sessions commenced on October 11th from 9a.m. – 5p.m. and October 12th from 9a.m. – 4p.m.
