Radio personality, Keith “Stone” Greaves recently elaborated on the .AI Domain which has been Anguilla’s area code since 1995, and he encourages Anguillians everywhere to find interest in benefiting from the AI revolution.
Now, with the ever increasing prominence of Artificial Intelligence, AI, Anguilla is poised to gain significant amounts of revenue from its area code, which is the imagery of global Artificial Intelligence, AI.
During his mid-day programme Anguilla Rebranded Part 2 on Wednesday 27th September, 2023, Mr. Greaves presented an overview of Anguilla’s .AI Domain name and its relevance to Artificial Intelligence.
“Last week we had a very interesting conversation with Mr. Vincent Kate, who is an expert in cryptography,” he said. “Mr. Kate has been at the helm of the .AI Domain registration for the Anguilla code.”
“The .AI Domain for Anguilla has been doing quite well lately, especially in recent years, and in the last few months. The figure of EC$30 million is reported for the sale of the .AI Domain registration to persons all around the world, so far, who subscribes to Artificial Intelligence. This is good money for the Government coffers,” Mr. Greaves noted.
He referred to information documented on .AI from the Government’s Commercial Registry which is now looking at introducing .AI as the future of business identity. According to the document from the Commercial Registry he read: ‘“The introduction of the .AI company suffix is a ground breaking opportunity for businesses worldwide…This forward thinking initiative not only represents the Anguilla Incorporated, but all also signifies businesses committed to pioneering advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related fields.”
‘“The .AI suffix embodies a synergy between technological innovation and corporate identity,” he said. “It reflects the commitment of businesses to embrace the cutting edge aligning with the global advancement in AI technologies. This innovative initiative is set to redefine how businesses identify themselves, associating them with excellence, growth, and the unique business landscape of Anguilla.”
“So, in addition to Anguilla’s Domain name, the Commercial Registry is endeavouring to get companies to get onboard with .AI,” observed Mr. Greaves. “This is an extraordinary positive effect which turns out to be good news for Anguilla. It shows forward thinking and dynamism for us all as a people who is likely to benefit from the fruits of AI business.”
Mr. Greaves said that at this period of our history, at this particular moment, .AI goes to show to what depth it can benefit Anguilla if the country positions itself to capitalize and maximize its profits in the sector of AI business.
“We don’t know how all this will play out later on down the road,” Mr. Greaves said, “but at least for now .AI is going in our favor, and it is important that Anguilla positions itself to derive maximum benefits from this .AI Domain name.
“AI is going in the right direction for Anguilla now,” he noted, “and it is on the up-tick. Lots of people want to get .AI for various reasons, so let us make the most of it now.”
During his radio programme he also shared some of the benefits of using .AI, as outlined in the Commercial Registry document:

So, I encourage our Anguillian people and business to be a part of this initiative that become a win-win for the Government of Anguilla, for entrepreneurs, businesses as well as for ordinary citizens.”
Mr. Greaves referred to the recent House of Assembly Meeting where the Medium Term Economic and Fiscal Plan was presented.
During that meeting the former Minister of Economic Development, Commerce, Information Technology and Natural Resources, Mr. Kyle Hodge, spoke positively of the .AI Revolution as hanging fruit for Anguilla’s treasury.
