It is just a matter of time! Have you ever heard that phrase? What does it mean? Why is it important to know that? You see, some of us believe that we have all the time in the world to do the things we wish to do, but it is not true. Our life has an end. We do not know the day, the time or hour our life will come to an end.
Many of us take time for granted, many of us take our lives for granted, and many of us take God for granted. We have the tendency to think that because some things do not happen, they will not happen. We think that because we are alive now, we will never die. We think that because Christ has not come yet, that He never will. However, God is not slack concerning His promises, and He does not lie. God promised that death is inevitable, hell is for the wicked, and heaven is for the righteous and death will come like a thief in the night, and it is just a matter of time.
We are all remarkably familiar with the passage in Ecclesiastes regarding time. Everything has its season and time, and everything happens in its own time. We do not have control over time, God does.
Sometimes when we face difficulties, problems, setbacks, and challenges, we think they are dead ends and we begin to lose hope in ourselves, we begin to question God, we begin to blame anything around us, we begin to get sad about many things, but what we need to bear in mind that it is only a matter of time. We need to put our faith and trust in God because everything happens in its own time. God controls that time. Therefore, we must exercise patience and wait on Him.
Time is what has transformed many and moved them from the place of dudgeon to the place of their destiny. It took time for a baby to develop, and it took time for seeds to germinate. Everything is a matter of time and when your time comes, it will happen. It is not for you to dictate. It is not for us to determine when Anguilla progresses, it is for God to determine. God operates with time. It is just a matter of time!
The Israelites suffered in Egypt, they cried for many years for God to help them, but their freedom from bondage to the Promised Land came at a time they least expected. Their enslavement was simply a matter of time. James 5:7-12 says, be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is nearby. Do not grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged”.
God always answers at the appointed time. Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.” My friends, let us keep praying, and working hard. Let us discern what is working and what is not working and learn when to change our tactics and routines. Do not get downhearted, keep hope alive. One day things will turn around. It is just a matter of time.
Time does matter! Examine the hour we are in; chase away all the thoughts and notions that suggest to us that we have all the time in the world. The thing we call our lives are literally swallowed up by this one fact: Our lives are nothing more than a matter of time!
Remember: The two most powerful warriors are patience and time. It is not that we have little time, but more that we waste a good deal of it.
