ADRIAN T. HAZELL PRIMARY SCHOOL WINS PRINCE AND PRINCESS PAGEANT

Winners: Saige Gumbs and Adriel Moses

Adriel Moses and Saige Gumbs of the Adrian T. Hazell Primary School are the 2023 Prince and Princess Pageant winners.

On the night of Saturday 29th July, 2023, the Landsome Bowl Cultural Center erupted with hilarious cheers, at the end of the Prince and Princess Contest, when the results of the competition were announced.

Adriel and Saige garnered a total of 488 points to place their school in the lead. The pair also won Best Evening Wear. Their prizes included a scholarship of EC$1,500 each from the Anguilla Progressive Movement and the Anguilla United Front; a laptop for each from the Anguilla Summer Festival; and a “selfie-stick” from Anguilla Office Supplies.

Four other primary schools participated in the pageant – the Morris Vanterpool Primary; the Alwyn Allison-Richardson Primary; the Orealia Kelly Primary; and The Valley Primary.

Coming in a close second place, with 485 points, was the Morris Vanterpool Primary, represented by Darren Smith and Tajah Lawrence. They won Best Talent. Their prizes included a tablet for each; a pedicure; a literacy gift basket; a plaque and a trophy.

Shenae Duncan and Geoni Maggoo of the Alwyn Allison-Richardson Primary School placed third. They won the Best Introductory Speech category and received a tablet; a plaque; a trip to St. Maarten on the MV Excellence and a literacy gift basket.

All the contestants received prizes which included lunch at a local restaurant as well as school supplies and a book voucher. The theme for the Prince and Princess pageant was “Preserving the Legacy”.
