A public consultation meeting was held at the Atlin Noraldo Harrigan Parliamentary Building on the evening of Monday 5th June, 2023, to present and discuss five bills relative to national financial regulations.
A panel of five officers hosted the consultation proceedings – Mr. Horace Edwards, Director of FIU: Ms. Erica Edwards, Senior Crown Council in the AG Chambers; Ms. Ojeda Vanterpool, Head of Compliance and Enforcement in the Financial Services Commission; Ms. Charonay Carty, Deputy Director of the Financial Services Commission; and Ms. Tina Bryan, Director of the Financial Services Commission.
According to Ms. Bryan, the draft legislation deals with Bribery; Counter Terrorism; Proliferation Financing Prohibition; Digital Asset Business; and Non-Profit Regulations. She said that these are key legislative amendments that will seek to ensure that Anguilla has appropriate mechanisms to be compliant with international standards.
