On Sunday 2nd April, 2023, spectators came out in their numbers to bear witness to what proved to be an exciting display of the competitive spirit of cycling.
Forty cyclists, representing Masters A and B. Elite, Novice, Female, Cadet and the always entertaining Sports categories, signed up for the competition on Sunday.
The route was from Tropical Distributors, up to the Sandy Hill Round-A-Bout and down to the Valley Round-A-Bout and back up to Tropical Distributors. The riders covered over 118 kilometres during the afternoon race.
The following cyclists were successful in their respective categories;
Elite: 1st Rolando Lake-Rogers (SXM), 2nd Delroy Carty (AXA), 3rd Daron Carty (AXA).
Masters A: 1st Benjamine Phillip (AXA), 2nd Alex Adams (AXA), 3rd Claudio Ellis (SXM).
Masters B: 1st John Charlery (AXA), 2nd Patrick Niles (AXA), 3rd Roberto Levenistone (SXM).
Novice: 1st Carvin Proctor (AXA), 2nd Nicholas Carbon (AXA), 3rd Zuri Wilkes (AXA).
Sports: 1st Jermaine Hodge (AXA), 2nd Lonnie Hobson (AXA), 3rd Malone Richardson (AXA).
The next cycle race – ‘The Jameda Webster Memorial Race’ – is scheduled for Sunday 23rd April, 2023, in Island Harbour.
The Anguilla Cycling Association has extended sincere gratitude to Tropical Distributors, Flow, Millennium Sounds, The Royal Anguilla Police Force, Moke Anguilla, AI LIve, Junie Fleming, visiting cyclists from both French and Dutch St. Martin/St. Maarten, the traffic wardens, the members of the ACA and especially the spectators.
