The British Virgin Islands hosted the Under-15 (U-15) Boys Tournament for teams from the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI), British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Anguilla from April 13th – April 16th 2023. The round-robin tournament was held at the BVI Football Association East End Astroturf Field.
Anguilla’s first appearance in the tournament was on April 13th against the BVI 0-2 in favour of the local boys.
The next match was against the USVI on April 14th where Anguilla scored 1 goal to win that match. Anguilla faced the USVI again on April 15th in a heated match where the USVI made a comeback and scored 1 goal on Anguilla, however the boys were able to turn it around and scored 3 goals to win that match.
The final match in the tournament was on April 16th against the BVI, Anguilla was declared the tournament champions after an intense match-up ending 1-0 in their favour.
The team arrived back in Anguilla on Monday 17th April, 2023, and was met by a crowd of parents, supporters and members of the Anguilla Football Association, who had gathered to congratulate and celebrate their success in the tournament.
The Anguilla Football Association have expressed their excitement for the team’s accomplishments in the tournament and look forward to their performance later this year in the Concacaf Competitions.
The U-15 Boys National Team Squad comprised Tiawayne Anderson – Defender, Keondre Belle – Midfield, Shemor Browne – Goalkeeper, Mekhi Connor – Striker, Jaiden Derrick – Midfield. Jervonte Gayle – Midfield, Kemari Gumbs – Striker, Zahir Hennis – Midfield, Kaeron Herbert – Midfield, Jamyoi Hodge – Defender, Cheddie Leveret – Midfield, Tjivari Leveret – Midfield, Raynel Martin – Midfield, Nicholson Millington – Defender, Jonatan Richardson – Defender, Aaden Rogers – Midfield, Andrew Service – Goalkeeper, and Kairon Woodley – Striker
The squad was accompanied by Team Manager Malone Richardson, Head Coach Kapil Battice, Equipment Manager Leon Jeffers, Assistant Coach Lester Connor and Goalkeeping Coach Simon Anthony.
