During the period of Monday, 11th July to Friday, 15th July, the Mount Fortune Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a vacation Bible school programme called Jasper Canyon Bible School. It was successfully held from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Mid-morning snacks and lunch were provided for the children. The participants who had registered by 12th June received a free vacation Bible school t-shirt. There were over 60 registered participants by the first day.

Ms. Marcia Hodge, one of the leaders at the camp stated that, “This was the first VBS held at the Mount Fortune Church, after many years, but we have hosted such sessions with much success in the past.”
With this Jasper Canyon Programme, the kids were able to have fun discovering the important treasures – that Jesus had given them – in five days of Christ-centred activities. There were 6 stations in which they rotated each day, including an excavation station, which was a praying session, and an arts and craft station where kids showed off their creative side while learning about the theme.
A unique aspect of the Programme was the saying, ‘I dig it!’ Each day the participants would have a saying, such as ‘Jesus made me special’, and end it with ‘I dig it!’

The closing ceremony for the Jasper Canyon Bible School will be held on Saturday at 4:30 pm at the Mount Fortune Seventh-day Adventist Church. Here, songs and skits will be performed and the kids will review what they learned.
