Youth EXPOSURE Clients Complete Professional Development Training In Safeguarding Your Mental Health

Clients of the Anguilla Service Corps – Youth EXPOSURE (YOUTH Experiencing, Xtra, Possibilities, Skills, Understanding, Responsibility and Education) programme – benefited from a professional development session in Safe Guarding your Mental Health: Mental Health and Unemployment and Emotional Wellness on Wednesday 8th June, 2022 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Department of Youth and Culture Training Centre. The session was facilitated by the Community Services Planner, Mrs. Hyacinth Bradley, and supported by members of the Management Advisory Board and Programme Officer (Youth) – Mrs. Jocelyne Mills.
During the two-part development session, Mrs. Bradley helped the clients to realise that good mental health, translates into a healthy well-being. Since the mind affects how the body feels, taking care of their mental wellbeing and emotional wellness depend greatly on their mental state.

A series of visual presentations and illustrations were used , during the session, which focused on self-care as well as the support received from family, friends and other social networks – and their role in assisting with good mental health.

Professional development sessions concentrated on various matters were part of the benefits for clients who enrolled in the Youth EXPOSURE programme. The Youth EXPOSURE Programme targets young people between the ages of 17 to 30 years old, who fit the criteria of the programme.
