From 16th to 24th May 2022, three youth workers from Anguilla attended a partnership building activity (PBA) training in Garlstedt, Germany, which included 31 youth workers from 12 different European countries and overseas territories – Anguilla, Spain, Martinique, Saint Maarten, Romania, Croatia, French Guiana, Aruba, Greece, North Macedonia, Netherlands and Germany. The training entitled “Bringing Europe Together” focused on developing new partnerships, while strengthening old ones, between NGOs in order to produce new and innovative youth exchanges in the scope of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps. It was also designed to allow participants to exchange best case practices, become more familiar with the opportunities of Erasmus + and European Solidarity Corps.

The training aimed to educate Youth Workers about Erasmus + youth exchange project cycles, Erasmus + project management, project design – as well as creating and completing partnership agreements. Through the various exercises, discussions and group projects, it helped to strengthen the understanding and knowledge of youth workers thereby boosting their confidence to produce quality and engaging youth exchanges. Some learning methods, utilised during the project included youth pass team building, name games, creative writing, video creation about the issues facing youths in our respective countries, and reflective learning.

This training was organised through the partnership of Abba’s House Anguilla, Anguilla National Youth Council, and Naturkultur EV – Germany. Special thanks to Fun time Charters, and the Department of Youth and Culture, that contributed to, and supported, the training.
