Fast forward to the present. I felt without a doubt that I was ready to hang up my spikes and put that phase of life behind me.
I’m truly blessed to be in a position where I could make that decision on my own terms and be content.
I’m forever grateful for those who did their part to help make this journey as smooth as it could have been through out this decade.
My family. No matter what, they always encouraged me, kept me grounded, provided a safety net for the bad times and also made sure I felt celebrated.
To the Anguillan community. I will forever be loyal to you. Thank you for trusting me to represent the beautiful island and the continued support even after I switched allegiances. Anguilla is always in my heart.
To Great Britain. This past weekend helped feel very much appreciated. You took a chance on me and I am happy you did. That allowed me to fulfill dreams that I didn’t even know i had.
To my coaches. The time, effort, patience over the years helped me realize my own capabilities and helped to unleash a sleeping beast inside of me that was needed to perform on the big stages.
To my training partners throughout the years. You guys made it exciting to show up to the track on the difficult days and give it everything I had.
