The Valley Primary School fondly refers to themselves as the Home of the Golden Horses. The ECCB delegation was greeted by members of the students’ council, and the school’s choir displayed their musical skills with a beautiful song rendition.

Local Education officials who welcomed the visiting team included the Hon Minister Kentish Rogers; Chief Education Officer, Mr. Bren Romney; Principal, Tricia Richardson; Education Officer Primary and Pre-Primary, Mrs. Susan Smith; and Maintenance Coordinator, Kieran Kentish. Teachers and other ministry officials were also in attendance.

Governor Antoine was very pleased to see and engage with the students. As part of his key message, he encouraged the students to always put God first in everything, to focus on their studies, and to help build up Anguilla.
The visit included a tour of the school’s new ICT Lab which is near completion. The ECCB made a donation of EC$100,000.00 to The Valley Primary School, in March 2021, for ICT Redevelopment after Hurricane Irma. The funds were pledged by Governor Antoine following his tour of Valley Primary School in the aftermath of the hurricane in 2017.

Speaking to The Anguillian, The Principal, Mrs. Tricia Richardson, expressed her appreciation for the ECCB’s visit, and thanked them for their tangible, significant contribution to the school’s ICT Lab. She said: “The entire Golden Horses community would like to extend hearty thanks to the ECCB for their mentorship, and support to the school, and we look forward to a strong working relationship with this entity in the future.”
