The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) wishes to announce the winners for the annual Risk Reduction Award, 2022.
1st Place Winner – Certificate of Distinction – The Health Promotion Unit – in Recognition of the exceptional work in designing and implementing safe, risk reducing programmes that stimulated knowledge and the prevention of disease.
The Health Promotion Unit was also awarded winner in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.
The following were the Award criteria:
• Designed and Implemented a safety and/or risk reducing programme/activity which had stimulated knowledge of various health risks and focus on disease prevention;
• Improved the ability to identify and abate unsafe conditions and practices;
• Facilitated accountability and improvement through evaluation and monitoring;
• Increased risk reduction and/or mitigation programme awareness;
• Developed innovative written risk reduction policies, plans and programmes; and/or
• Developed an educational programme or component to benefit the national risk reduction programme.
The Annual Recognition Awards 2022 were coordinated by the Department of Disaster Management with Platinum sponsorship by Alliance Insurance Services Ltd. – to solicit nominations – and award selected individuals, groups or institutions for excellence in innovation, outreach and effective collaboration, and significance of improving safe and risk reducing measures and activities in risk reduction in 2021.
The handing over ceremony of this auspicious Award will be held at 9 am on March 23, 2022, at Alliance Insurance Services offices, D’Image Building, Rock Farm.
